Starting today, we begin our photographic celebration of the motorcycle! And first up is this. The Triumph Tiger Explorer ABS. This is Triumph’s contribution to the adventure class “big bike” market. It is designed to compete with the iconic BMW GS models, and other large displacement adventure bikes around the world. Like many of the adventure bikes out there, this Triumph has exciting lines and curves that make it incredibly fun to look at.
The Triumph Tiger Explorer, however, differs from other big bikes in that it sports a smooth running three cylinder engine rather than the twin engines found on many bikes in this class. This 1,250cc, 12 valve DOHC, straight-three engine gives the rider a powerful 135 horsepower, pairing it with an appropriate 89 lb-ft of torque.
Triumph manufactures two versions of the Explorer, the Explorer ABS and Explorer XC ABS. The XC version shares the same engine and chassis specification as this Explorer. But Triumph added some components that would make the Explorer XC ABS more suitable for off-road travel, such as spoke wheels, an engine guard, and more.
But enough about all that technical “Mumbo Jumbo”. Enjoy the gallery we have below. Be sure to visit the Official Triumph Motorcycles Web Site for technical specifications and all other information.
